We are happy to announce the start of our EVA project. We would like to introduce you to our project and invite you to engage in this project process.

The main goal of this project is to support and promote migrant and ethnic minority entrepreneurs and help these groups to overcome difficulties, which might prevent them from starting and growing businesses in Europe.

The project addresses two topics, which are extremely important for the European Union: migration and entrepreneurship. The benefits of entrepreneurship amongst third country nationals are twofold: Firstly, it has the potential to reduce the number of people in or at risk of poverty and social exclusion, which is a goal targeted in the EU 2020 Strategy.

Secondly, it promotes integration and intercultural cohesion within Europe. Unfortunately, the employment opportunities for EU nationals are significantly higher than for those non-EU nationals, resulting in the latter either occupying jobs that they are overqualified for or being unsuccessful in starting their business due to the many challenges that they face.

This partnership will endeavour to contribute to promote entrepreneurship among migrants and third country nationals by offering an innovative platform consisting of three elements: an evaluation tool that detects existing entrepreneurship competences, an overview of online or in-person tools, training and courses that are currently existent, and finally a simulator environment to test and accredit entrepreneurship skills of third country nationals.

In order to test the effectiveness of our platform a group of third country nationals from each country will be used for the pilot test. All relevant information, results and findings will be shared with the key stakeholders at a national level in order to ensure their understanding, adoption and recommendation for the platform within key learning environments.

The project will also produce a Collection of Experiences and policy recommendations based on the testing of the different methodologies developed in the project, which can be used to recommend actions for relevant stakeholders at European Level.

EVA is co-financed through the Erasmus+ European Fund and the partnership behind the project is made up of organisations from 5 countries: Denmark (Resource Centre for Integration), Italy (Politecnico Di Torino and Consorzio Scuola Comunita Impresa), Germany (Landeshauptstadt Magdeburg), Malta (SOS Malta) and Cyprus (Synthesis Center for Research and Education LTD).
